Product Packaging is responsible for checking liners, removing protectors and cleaning as needed, scanning product into database, verifying information on labels match product to be boxed and properly package all liners according to standard operating procedures.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Check and measure all locking liners meet thickness and durometer specification.
  • Remove all thread protectors and clean out any flashing or urethane particles from T-nut.
  • Accurately scan each individual product barcode into database including visual decisions on product type and umbrella style.
  • Verify information on printed label matches specification of product before applying to box.
  • Ensure all liners, seals and sleeves are properly packaged according to the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide feedback to umbrella fabrication area or Quality Control when any quality criteria's fall below the predetermined guidelines.
  • Product Identification
  • Sorting Alpha Liners, Seals and Sleeves
  • Visual Inspections of all liners, seals and sleeves
  • Able to perform all aspects of product packaging including barcode label, remove liner from locking mandrels, cutting, apply adhesive to all cut seams, bagging/sealing and boxing product
  • Operate and maintain proper blank box supply for the Arpac box erector
  • Deliver work in process carts to Central Shipping


Essential Skills Required:


This position requires strong knowledge of all standard operating procedures for liner process quality checks and product packaging. The ability to analyze data from daily and blanket orders to meet or exceed all scheduled ship dates.  Proficient in use of the OWW Intranet Website for instructions, reports and applications used to perform job daily.  Display a strong ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization.


  • Ability to work alone as well as a team

  • Highly motivated and self starter
  • Make accurate decisions based on predetermined quality criteria
  • Prior product packaging or shipping experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills (preferably Microsoft Office)
  • Must have ability to quickly become proficient in measurement devices such as rule, thickness and durometer gages.

The minimum physical requirements needed to perform this job include:


  • Ability to stand, use hands, fingers and arms, push or pull over 2/3 of the time
  • Ability to climb or balance, under 1/3 of the time.
  • Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 1/3 to 2/3 of the time
  • Ability to talk and hear on a regular basis
  • Occasionally lift 10 to 50 lbs., under 1/3 of the time
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
  • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge
  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)



Work Environment:


Exposure to the following environmental conditions may apply.


  • Working near moving mechanical parts, over 2/3 of the time
  • Working around or near fumes or airborne particles over 2/3 of the time.
  • Wet or humid conditions (non-weather) 1/3 to 2/3 of the time
  • Work in high, precarious places, under 1/3 of the time
  • Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
